
On April 28, 1968, YPPMI founded the Academy of Finance and Banking (Akubank) with one department, the Department of Finance and Banking. Furthermore, on November 29, 1984, by the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 061/0/1984, opening a new department with the Department of Management Studies Diploma Program Information Management Finance and Banking, with the status terdaftar.Pada May 15, 1989, Akubank developed into high school, the College of Banking and Finance, abbreviated STIKUBANK, with increasing levels of education Diploma IV.
Seeing the needs of the community will graduate higher education, particularly in management and accounting continue to rise, then STIKUBANK developed into the School of Economics (STIE) STIKUBANK based on the Decree of Director General of Higher Education Department of Education Number 407/DIKTI/Kep/1992 dated August 26, 1992, with changes in majoring in Management Information Management Studies Program to Department of Financial and Banking Studies Diploma Program Management, Financial Management, with equal status.
To continue the Department of Management Studies D-III Information Management Finance and Banking, then in 1993 founded the Academy of Management YPPMI Informatics and Computer Stikubank, abbreviated AMIK STIKUBANK. Programs are held is the Department of Information Management Diploma Program level III, with the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 92/D/0/1993, dated July 23, 1993.

On March 4, 1998, by Decree No. 76/DIKTI/Kep/1998 Director General of Higher Education, D-III Study Program Information Management received Recognized status.
To provide the workforce required by the market, then open the Program STMIK STIKUBANK DI and D-II Information Management, based on Kopertis Region VI Coordinator of Central Java No. 1727 / A / 0.06.2/AK.10/1998 June 27, 1998. Studies Program DI and D-II Management Information received Recognized status, follow the status of the D-III Study Program of Information Management.
One year later, on March 24, 1999, D-III Study Program (including DI and D-II) Manajemn Informatics, has gained equal status by virtue of Decree No. 71/DIKTI/Kep/1999 Director General of Higher Education.
Given the resources deemed adequate, then on February 15, 1999, STMIK STIKUBANK add department / new courses, namely D-III Study Program Computerized Accounting with Registered status based on the Decree No. 26/DIKTI/Kep/1999 Director General of Higher Education. Furthermore, in an effort to meet the manpower needed by the community, then STMIK STIKUBANK unlock new courses, namely D-III Studies Program Computer Engineering with Registered status by virtue of Decree No. 164/DIKTI/Kep/2000 Director General of Higher Education on 20 May 2000.
In order to offset the public trust to STMIK STIKUBANK, it has made efforts accreditation process for the two S-1 Study Program, the Information Management / Information Systems and Information Engineering. With hard work from all academic and support of all parties, then the S-1 Study Program Information Management and S-1 Study Program Information Engineering has received accreditation from National Accreditation Board (BAN)-PT, with a rating of "A" for the S-Study Program 1 Information Management and a rating of "B" for S-1 Study Program Information Engineering. Accreditation is one way of standardizing the program study BAN-PT universities.
Until the academic year 2000/2001, STMIK STIKUBANK manage and organize a study program DI, 3 (three) Program D-III and 2 (two) Program S-1, namely:
a. IN Studies Program Information Management (equivalent status)
b. D-III Study Program of Information Management (equal status)
c. D-III Study Program Computerized Accounting (Registered status)
d. D-III Studies Program Computer Engineering (Registered status)
e. S-1 Study Program Information Management / Information Systems (accreditation "A")
f. S-1 Study Program Information (accreditation "B").

Finally, thanks to the grace of Almighty God and hard work from all over the board of trustees and committee stance tirelessly and with the help of various parties, the desire for the establishment of the University Stikubank (combined from STMIK, STIBA and STIH Stikubank) Semarang, has obtained approval from Minister of National Education with the Decree permits the delivery of the University Studies Program and Establishment Number 53/D/O/2001 Stikubank July 5, 2001 and the signing of the Statement of the Chairman of the Foundation (YPPMI) and Rector of the University Stikubank on July 13, 2001 in Jakarta. Thus since July 5, 2001, officially STMIK, STIBA and STIH Stikubank have changed form and join STIKUBANK UNIVERSITY Semarang, by managing five faculty and 13 undergraduate study programs, namely:
